The very first step to beginning your epic adventures is to create your Character. Whats their name? Whats their background? How do they fight? Once you have a vagiue idea of what kind of Character you wish to play as, its time to pick a race and a class.
Races refer to the different species or humanoid beings that you can choose to play as for your character. In D&D, races are often fantastical and include a wide range of creatures, such as humans, elves, dwarves, halflings, orcs, goblins, and more. Each race in D&D has its own unique characteristics, abilities, and traits that can influence how the character interacts with the game world and other characters. These traits are often defined by the race's physical, cultural, and magical attributes, and can affect abilities such as strength, intelligence, dexterity, and more. For example, elves are often known for their agility and affinity for magic, while dwarves are known for their durability and craftsmanship.
Classes are the different roles or professions that you can choose for your character. A character's class represents their occupation or vocation within the game world and determines their abilities, skills, and playstyle. Each class has its own unique features and abilities. This includes combat skills, magical abilities, specializations, and other unique traits. Classes provide a framework for how characters approach challenges and interact with the game world, allowing players to customize their characters and play a variety of roles in a party of adventurers.
